Hi! I'm Julie,
One of my earliest memories is visiting “Mother Goose Land” with my Grandma Watson. She’d read me storybooks, then take me to what felt like a larger-than-life world (though it was just a small playground). From that moment to the wonders of Sesame Street, putting on backyard plays, and discovering the late-night laughs of Saturday Night Live, I was captivated by stories. More than just entertainment, these experiences immersed me in the full spectrum of human emotions, inspiring me to explore how stories shape our perspectives and connections—how they allow us to feel heard, seen, and valued.
As a media psychologist, gerontologist, and fellow artist, I work with creative and curious minds and businesses to design experiences that foster connection and understanding. I look forward to supporting you.

Empathy-Driven Experiences to Transform Understanding and Connection
The Empathy Experience was created out of my deep desire for people to feel seen, heard, and valued. It started in 2005 as Character Clubs, an innovative program I created to promote empathy and social-emotional learning in children through storytelling and interactive activities.
Today, both The Empathy Experience and AgeLink are immersive experiences that bring people together to foster deeper intergenerational connections, inspire meaningful dialogue, and cultivate a greater understanding of one another.
